Our new campaign using 3rd Ed. Rules began on 3/28/2001.  We finalized producing our characters and began the campaign using some info the DM (Randy) prepared for us (Randy was absent this week).

Characters/Players

Divas - Fighter - male Elf/John Milam

Gwynne Goodbody - Rogue - female Halfling/Rob Kraft

Talia - Bard - female HalfElf/Bert Wood

Bunklor - Monk - male Human/Ernie Simpson

Aust - Fighter - male Elf/Doug Beatty

 

Our characters entered the city and met each other at the Wayward Wanderer (Ceres (human male) is the innkeeper - he used to be a fighter).  Then we met with Dorvin (a human wizard) at his IceHouse.  Then we went out and killed two bears (leaving 3 live baby bears behind), and took 1 bear back to the city and received 45gp from Dorvin, which we quickly divided between the 5 people in our party.

At our next meeting, on 4/11/2001, we met a new character, (Glistar - Sorcerer - male human/Randy Gladish), and he helped us find Artemis (House of Animals) - a keeper of animals interested in the 3 baby bears, as well as Mortimer (from who we rented a wagon for 8 silver pieces).  We went out and killed 6 goblins in the bear cave, collected their 400sp, 2 studded leather (small), 2 crappy short swords, and a morningstar.  We also loaded the big dead bear in the wagon and the 3 baby bears and began the trip back.

At our third meeting (John was not present - maybe not even conscious), on 5/9/2001, we encounted 2 ogres on our journey back and killed them and got their 600gp, 2 smokesticks, 4 thunderstones, and Repeating Crossbow.  We went back to town (got by guard (Sevrius Rufus) without paying thanks to Talia's charm) and collected 190gp each per baby bear from Artemis (paid for with 57pp), then 30 gp from Darvin for the dead bear.  We went back to the inn and divied up our entire adventure collections as follows:

 

6 party members:

100gp each

5 of us took 10pp each while Talia took 7pp and 30gp

4 of us took 65sp while Divas took 73sp to reimburse him for the 8sp he shelled out for wagon rental and Glistar took 67sp for his help finding Mortimer.

Glistar, Gwynne, Talia, and Bunklor each took a ThunderStone

Aust and Divas each took a smokestick

Divas is carrying the Repeating Crossbow and may use it (if he gets some bolts), but it is currently still considered party treasure, as are the 2 studded leathers, crappy short swords, and morningstar.

 

XP total for 4 characters (except Glistar) was 715 (Talia was 740).  XP broken down as follows:

240xp per person (5) for 2 big bear kills

150xp per person (6) for the 3 little bear captures

100xp per person (6) for the 6 goblin kills

200xp per person (6) for the 2 ogre kills

25xp per person (6) for role playing

25xp (Talia) for guard charming
